Kathy Machaj

Program Associate

Kathy Machaj is a Program Associate at the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. In this role, she helps coordinate the BOC program, manages promotional efforts and assists partners with program design and delivery. Prior to joining MEEA, Kathy worked as an environmental educator for both the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and the Forest Preserves of Cook County. In both roles, she designed and implemented nature-based programming. She has also interned for the Office of Sustainability at the University of Illinois at Chicago as well as the Center for Neighborhood Technology. She is particularly passionate about sustainability, environmental stewardship and equitable access to the outdoors.

In her free time, she enjoys drinking coffee, walking along the Lakefront, reading, laughing with friends and watching scary movies. Kathy has a B.S. in Earth and Environmental Science and a B.A. in Urban Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
